The Guild of St. Raphael for the Ministry of Healing

The Guild of St Raphael for the Ministry of Healing was founded in 1915 with the object of working for the restoration of this ministry as part of the normal function of the Church. The Guild consists of communicants within the Anglican Communion who observe a rule of prayer, study and work for this ministry. At present there are over one hundred branches throughout the world

Aims

1. To unite in a fellowship of prayer within the Church those who hold the faith that our Lord works through his Church to bring health to everyone in body, mind and spirit.

2. To promote belief that God wills the conquest of disease and sin through the power of the living Christ.

3. To guide the sick, and those who care for them, to Christ as the source of healing.

Methods

1. To prepare the sick for this ministry by teaching the need for repentance and faith.

2. To use the blessed sacrament, the sacrament of anointing with holy oil and the sacramental act of laying on of hands for healing.

3. To make intercession, both individual and corporate, supported by meditation and silence, central to our work.

The Guild Prayer

Lord God, bless the Guild of St Raphael, that its members may fulfil your holy will in all things; and guide your Church to know and to use all means of grace for the healing of mankind according to your Word, after the example of your Son Jesus Christ, our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in unity with the Holy Spirit, one God for ever. Amen.

We hold a monthly service at St. Andrew’s (in the school Forum), on the first Tuesday of the month, at 7:00pm.
