St Mark's CE Primary School

Message from the current Head Girl & Head Boy - March 2009

Over the past months school has been extremely busy with activities leading up to Christmas, e.g. non uniform days and ‘pop connection’.

On Monday morning in assembly we are very grateful to have Reverend Turner to come to our school to lead our assembly. Over some time in January there were some boxes at the front of the hall and many children were curious as to what was in them. So the following week when Reverend Turner came into school all was revealed when we found out that every pupil from Year 1 to Year 6 was going to receive their own personal Bible.

Each Bible was handed out one by one by Reverend Turner; when a child received their Bible their smile lit up the room like a ray of sunshine. Our Bibles are used every day and are great for the younger children with short paragraphs and detailed illustrations. Now Year 6 pupils on a Monday and Tuesday morning will read a short story from their Bible in assembly so everyone can hear the greatness of God’s beautiful Kingdom.

We are sure that every pupil will cherish their Bible forever!
