FAQ's about Baptisms
Can I have a service of Baptism
at St Mark or St Mary?
Yes, if you live in the parish. It is the right of everyone who wants to be
baptized to be baptized in their parish church. We WELCOME all who are brought
to the churches in our team for baptism (or christening) as infants, or who
seek this sacrament for themselves, as children or adults
I don't live in the parish
but would like a service of Baptism at your church. Is that possible?
If you live OUTSIDE the Parish, you should normally ask for baptism in the parish
where you live, so that your local church will be able to offer you on-going
support. If you feel there is a particular reason for your child to be baptized
here, please give your reasons in a supporting letter. If we agree with your
reasons, we will ask you to approach the vicar of your own parish, to seek his
or her goodwill
How much does if cost?
There is NO FEE for baptism, it is God's free gift
to all his people - However, we hope you will feel able to make an appropriate
donation to enable the work of the church to continue
