Heritage Open Days 2019
This September we are excited to welcome many new and previous visitors to St Mark's Church through the Heritage Open Day Festival.
During selected days, as highlighted below, visitors to our beautiful Grade 1 listed church, will have the opportunity to examine and learn more about the architectural history art and design of the church and the people who influenced it.
During your visit, volunteers will be on hand to explain the fascinating history of St Mark's and our varied displays will illustrate the day to day work of the church, along with some of the special events that have taken place.
This hidden gem has a plentiful amount of detail and history just waiting to be explored. With an exterior flanked with gargoyles, richly carved details, flying buttresses and a Spire of 185ft there's so much to explore.
Qualified tour guides will be on hand to provide a short tour of the church and it’s interior from early afternoon on all our open days, with a maximum of 10 people per tour/session, these will last approximately 20 minutes.
