St. Mark's Church are proposing to start the process of the closure of the churchyard with ultimate responsibility for maintenance transferring to the local authority.

For practical purposes nothing will change.

This is necessary as at present there is no room for creation of any additional graves.  

Access to the churchyard for the general public will be unaffected.

​

Internment of Ashes in the Woodland Rest will continue as will the opening of current graves for burials in an existing plot where there is room.

​

We will discuss with the local authority the work we currently undertake in maintaining the churchyard.
